補修語言規定In-Residence Intensive English Requirement

If you were admitted with the condition to complete the International Student English (ISE) Exam,

~ American Language Institute (ALl) prior to registering for classes or obtain a qualifying

Score on the TOEFL exam. If you do not earn a qualifying score, you will be required to

complete additional courses which will result in additional expenses upon registration.

\ 2(f you will need to need to satisfy the University's English language requirement by enrolling in the

USC Language Academy. The IPPAM program's intensive English study is offered through the

USC Language Academy, not the American Language Institute (All). Additional IPPAM program

fees will be applied to international students with a TOEFL score less than 100 internet-based (i8T),

250 computer-based, or 600 paper-based, to cover the costs of an In-residence English study

program. To be exempt from the In-residence English study program, international IPPAM

students must submit a qualifying TOEFL score prior to June 15. 2009. A qualifying score is an

internet-based (iBT) score of 100 or higher with no less than 20 on each individual section of the

test, 250 or higher on the computer-based TOEFL, and 600 or higher on the paper-based TOEFL.

Students whose scores are not officially reported by June 15th must take the ISE Placement exam

administered by the USC Language Academy. Required English language courses must be

completed with a grade of C or better to maintain standing within the IPPAM program. You should

plan to set aside up to $7,000 for the Summer and Fall semester programs.
